What is Rubber Stone? It is a covering for ugly surfaces, both old and new. With Rubber Stone you can resurface concrete, asphalt, tile, paving stones, wood and more. It is made from superior-quality, small recycled rubber chips and a flexible polyurethane binding agent, a combination which produces a durable, flexible, slip resistant and textured product. And because the rubber chips are soft, they create a forgiving surface that helps cushion the impact from standing, walking, running and playing.
If you have a surface prone to cracks, Rubber Stone is an ideal covering. It will move and flex with the substrate beneath it so that the cracks don't reappear. It is so durable it can withstand the same harsh conditions as the tires on your car: extreme heat, freezing temperatures, wet and dry conditions and heavy traffic. But Rubber Stone isn't only for driveways and sidewalks. Rubber Stone can be used both indoors and outdoors on a wide variety of surfaces.
Rubber Stone is easy to clean and maintain. It is stain resistant so a simple water and soap clean up is all you need. Prone to allergies? The polyurethane coating creates an allergen-free surface! It prevents allergens from working into the material. Anything that falls on the floor can easily be cleaned away. Since Rubber Stone is porous, outdoor surfaces are less likely to get icy, making for easier snow removal. Shovels, snow plows and ice-melting products can be used on Rubber Stone. A recommended re-coating of polyurethane every 4-5 years will help ensure Rubber Stone stays bonded to the surface below and will make it shine like new.
We care about the environment! Rubber Stone is a LEEDs (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) contributing recycled product that utilizes post-consumer waste. For every 25 square feet of installed product, 3 tires are kept out of the landfill. An average driveway keeps 60 tires from the landfill. A typical two-car driveway saves 120 tires. And think about how tough those driveways are!
Rubber Stone is available in over 20 colors. Our clients can choose their own color combinations, making each project unique. Unlike other companies, our rubber chips aren't dyed or tumbled. They are made of thermoplastic elastomer rubber, or TPV rubber. This means that our colors will not burn or rub off over time. Our colors will remain the same twenty years from now, which is extremely important if your Rubber Stone project needs a repair. With our product, new rubber seamlessly integrates with old rubber so much so that cracked areas will become virtually invisible. You just can't get that guarantee from any other rubber product.
